Blow mold is a tool used in the plastic processing industry to match the plastic molding machine, so that the plastic product has a complete structure and accurate size. Today, we will summarize the 6 categories of blow molds.

According to different forming methods, can be divided into different mold types.

1. Injection mold

It is mainly a molding die, most commonly used in the production of thermoplastic parts. The corresponding processing equipment is injection molding machine.

The plastic is first heated and melted in the heating cylinder of the injection molding machine, and then pushed by the screw or plunger of the injection molding machine, through the nozzle of the injection molding machine and the pouring system of the mold into the mold cavity. The plastic is cooled and hardened to form the product.

The structure is usually composed of forming parts, pouring system, guiding parts, push mechanism, temperature regulation system, exhaust system, support parts, etc., and is made of plastic die steel.

Injection molding is usually only applicable to the production of thermoplastic products. A wide range of plastic products are produced by injection molding. Everything from daily necessities to all kinds of complex electrical appliances and auto parts are molded with injection molds. It is the most widely used processing method in the production of plastic products.

2. Blow mold

A mold for hollow containers used for processing plastic containers (such as beverage bottles, daily chemical products, etc.).

The equipment used for blow molding of hollow products is usually called plastic blow molding machine.

Blow molding is only applicable to the production of thermoplastic products.

3. Extrude the mold

A mold used to produce a continuous shape of plastic products, also called an extrusion head. Widely used in pipe, bar, monofilament, sheet, film, wire and cable coating, profile processing.

Its corresponding production equipment is plastic extruder.

The principle is to melt and plasticize solid plastics under the condition of extruder heating and screw rotation, and form continuous plastic products with the same section and shape as mold by mold of specific shape.

The main manufacturing materials are carbon structural steel, alloy tools, etc. Some extrusion dies also embed diamond and other wear-resistant materials on the parts that need to be wear-resistant.

The extrusion process is usually only suitable for the production of thermoplastic products, and its structure is different from that of injection molds and compression molds.

4. Blister mold

A mold for forming some simple plastic products from plastic sheets or sheets.

Its principle is to use the vacuum blooming method or compressed air molding method to make the plastic plate or sheet fixed on the concave die or punch die, under the condition of heating and softening deformation and paste on the mold cavity to get the required molding products, mainly used in some daily necessities, food, toys packaging products production.

Because the pressure of blow molding is low, the mold materials are mostly cast aluminum or non-metallic materials, and the structure is simple.

5. Pressure plastic mold

It includes two structural die types: compression molding and injection molding.

They are mainly used for forming thermosetting plastics a kind of mold, the corresponding equipment is pressure molding machine.

According to the characteristics of the plastic, the mold is heated to the molding temperature (generally 103°108°), and then the measured pressure plastic powder is put into the mold cavity and the feeding chamber, and the mold is closed. The plastic is softened and viscous flow under the action of high heat and high pressure. After a certain period of time, it is solidified and shaped into the required product.

The difference between pressure injection molding and compression molding is that there is no separate feeding chamber, the mold is closed before forming, and the plastic is preheated in the feeding chamber to form a viscous flow state, which is adjusted and squeezed into the mold cavity under the action of pressure and hardened.

The pressure plastic mold is mainly composed of cavity, feeding cavity, guiding mechanism, pushing parts, heating system and so on. Pressure injection die is widely used to encapsulate electrical components. The materials used in the manufacture of pressure - plastic molds are basically the same as those used in injection molds.

6. High foaming polystyrene molding mold

It is a kind of mold that uses the raw material of foamable polystyrene (a beaded material composed of polystyrene and foaming agent) to form various shapes of foam packaging material.

The principle is that the steam molding can be into the mold of the produced polystyrene, including simple manual operation mold and hydraulic press straight through foam mold two types, mainly used for the production of industrial packaging products. The mould is made of cast aluminum, stainless steel, bronze and so on.

The above is the six categories of blow molds. Do you understand them?
